Warm greetings and namaste from Kathmandu, Nepal!

There is already crispness in the air heralding the arrival of winter. The 
paddy harvesting in full swing. It is also a time for celebration here in 
Nepal where we  celebrate two major festivals, Dasain and Tihar (Festival 
of Lights). This a time for revering your elders, blessing young ones, and 
celebrating. In the country, people  savour the newly harvested rice as 
part of their meals.

ICIMOD is now gearing up for the Annual Meeting of the ICIMOD Board of 
Governors in November where the new Strategic Plan 2008-2012 will be discussed.

I am always very happy to receive your comments and feedback and feel 
greatly encouraged that you keep on reading and writing in to us.
